Salon SMS reminders Australia

Confirmation SMS, reminder SMS and owner alerts for new bookings.

BeautiDesk helps salons reduce missed appointments and missed new bookings with Australian SMS workflows tied to the merchant workspace.

Quick answer

BeautiDesk supports SMS confirmations, reminders, YES/NO reply handling and optional owner alerts for Australian salon bookings. A studio can use app push notifications, owner SMS alerts, or both depending on how closely the owner watches the workspace.

Starter costs AUD $49.99 per month for 1 studio, up to 3 staff, 300 bookings and 50 monthly SMS credits for Australian mobile numbers. Start with a 14-day no-card trial and 20 trial SMS credits. See Starter limits and costs →

Customer confirmation SMS

After a booking is created, the customer can receive a confirmation SMS with appointment details. The merchant workspace shows whether the confirmation SMS was sent.

Reminder SMS before the appointment

Studios can queue reminder messages to reduce no-shows. SMS credits apply to Australian mobile numbers only.

YES/NO reply workflow

  • YES replies can confirm an appointment.
  • NO replies can flag the booking for follow-up or reschedule.
  • Unclear replies can be shown to the front desk for review.
  • Forwarding can include customer name, phone number and reply text.

Owner alert SMS for new bookings

If the owner does not always watch the app or dashboard, the studio can enable an owner SMS alert for new bookings and choose the alert mobile number.

When reminders are sent

Choose how many hours before the appointment the reminder goes out; the default is 24 hours. The appointment shows when the reminder SMS has been sent, and staff can send a queued reminder now or resend one that failed.

Edit your message templates

Confirmation and reminder templates can be edited to match how your salon talks to clients. Available placeholders include:

  • {customer} and {studio}.
  • {services} and {staff}.
  • {time} and {address}.
  • {phone} and {contact}.

The default reminder ends with “Reply YES to confirm, NO to change.”

How SMS credits are counted

A standard SMS part holds up to 160 characters. Longer messages are joined from several parts, and each part uses one credit. Emoji and some special characters reduce the characters available per part.

The template preview shows the billable parts, and BeautiDesk blocks templates whose preview is longer than 4 parts. Keep reminders short to keep each message to one credit.

Credits by plan and automatic top-ups

  • 14-day no-card trial: 20 SMS credits.
  • Starter: 50 SMS credits per month.
  • Pro: 200 SMS credits per month.
  • Business: 1,000 SMS credits per month.
  • Premium: 2,500 SMS credits per month.

SMS credits apply to Australian mobile numbers. If you turn on automatic top-up, it runs before a confirmation or reminder SMS is sent, so a busy week does not stop reminders. Top-up prices are shown in AUD.

STOP and opt-out handling

Replies such as STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE block Client Care and other marketing SMS for that client, and the studio is alerted in the dashboard or app. Appointment confirmations and reminders are treated as transactional messages about a booking the client made.

Client Care rebooking reminders

Client Care can send a rebooking SMS with a booking link when a client’s saved cycle becomes due, for example a lash infill or regular nail appointment. It only sends to clients with recorded consent, no future booking and no STOP reply, and it re-checks these conditions immediately before sending. Client Care is available on Starter, Pro, Business and Premium while billing access is active.

Let clients change their own booking

After booking online, the client’s confirmation screen includes a Manage booking button and an Add to Calendar file. When customer self-manage is on, the client can cancel or reschedule there within the cutoff hours and reschedule limit the salon sets. That turns some “can I move my appointment?” calls into changes the client makes directly.

Salon SMS reminders FAQ

Can BeautiDesk send SMS reminders to salon customers?

Yes. BeautiDesk can send customer confirmation and reminder SMS messages when the studio enables SMS workflows and has SMS credits.

Can a salon owner receive an SMS when a new booking is made?

Yes. Studios can enable optional owner SMS alerts for new bookings and choose the owner alert mobile number.

Are YES replies forwarded to the owner?

A YES reply can confirm the appointment without owner forwarding. NO replies or unclear customer replies are designed for staff follow-up and can be forwarded when the owner alert workflow is enabled.

Can a salon turn owner SMS alerts off?

Yes. A studio can rely on app push notifications or dashboard review if owner SMS alerts are not needed.

Can the owner alert mobile be different from the studio phone?

Yes. The owner alert mobile can be configured separately so the right person receives new booking alerts.

Do SMS credits apply to owner alerts?

Yes. Owner alerts, customer confirmations and reminder messages are SMS traffic and use SMS credits when sent. Each owner alert uses 1 SMS credit.

When is the reminder SMS sent?

The studio sets how many hours before the appointment the reminder is sent. The default is 24 hours. From the appointment, staff can send a queued reminder now or resend one that failed.

How many SMS credits are included?

The 14-day no-card trial includes 20 SMS credits. Paid plans include 50 (Starter), 200 (Pro), 1,000 (Business) or 2,500 (Premium) SMS credits per month for Australian mobile numbers. Each SMS part uses one credit.

What happens when a client replies STOP?

A STOP reply blocks Client Care and other marketing SMS for that client and alerts the studio in the dashboard or app. Appointment confirmations and reminders are treated as transactional messages.
